The Physical Internet & Its Relevance to the Global Goods Movement by Lóránt (Lori) Tavasszy

Abstract:

The physical internet is vital for transportation, especially freight flows and logistics. Global logistics are diversifying and multi-channel distribution has become the new normal. This is the case especially recently, due to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic. TRB hosted a recorded session in May that discussed how freight operators can maintain this pace. The presenter identified challenges in freight logistics and recognized opportunities that have arisen due to these challenges.  He discussed how the physical internet can help freight operators prepare for and adapt to a rapidly changing world.
